310069
It might seem slightly strange having a personal favourite EMU of a particular class, but I do, and the EMU in question is class 310 no. 310069.
After a long
career, 310069 was retired from service at the end of 2001, after all of the
LTS 310s were replaced by class 357 electrostars. It is presently in store at
the MOD depot in Shoeburyness. It is owned by HSBC rail, and this worries me
because recently HSBC scrapped a lot of class 86 electric locos and I fear they
may do the same to the 310s, including 310069.
It has always
been my dream to see 310069 preserved, but this is annoyingly unlikely.
If anyone has
information concerning 310069, or any other 310s, then will they please e-mail
me at tom@walker3.f2s.com.
