The class 302s
The class 302 EMUs were introduced in the
1950/60s. They were used on the LTS (London, Tilbury and Southend) line during
the 70s and 80s. After privatisation in 1994, the new train operator on the
LTS line, LTS rail, saw the urgent need to replace the aging 302s, which were
now older than most of their passengers, and drafted in 1970s class 317s to
cover, and withdrew all the 302s by July 1998. As far as I know there are
a few 302 coaches preserved including a car from 302201.
